Specialist support with 3D scanning and reverse engineering
3D Scanning Service
Unlock the potential of your products
3D scanning is a powerful tool in breathing new life into existing parts or products – and they don’t need to be priceless ancient artifacts for you to take advantage of this capability today.
Is there a unique object you want to modify or reproduce? Our 3D scanning service combined with our reverse engineering service offer a powerful solution.
What we do:
High-Precision 3D Scanning: We capture the exact geometry of your physical object using cutting-edge 3D scanning technology.
Expert Reverse Engineering: Our skilled engineers transform the scan data into a precise 3D CAD model, ready for modification, analysis, or manufacturing.
3D Scanning unlocks innovation
Revitalise Legacy Parts: Recreate digital models of obsolete parts for repair, replacement, or improved designs.
Unlock Innovation: Modify existing designs or develop entirely new products based on real-world objects.
Streamline Manufacturing: Simplify production processes by using our 3D scanning service to create accurate 3D models for CNC machining, 3D printing and more.
Ensure Accuracy: Eliminate the need for manual measurements and human error. Complete accuracy, every time.
A five step process
Getting from an existing part to a scanned and printed new part is a five step process. Of course, we’re there to guide you through each step to get to the best result possible.
Step 1. Engineer Review
Once you get in touch and send us images of the part you want scanned, one of our engineers will review those images. They will assess the feasibility of recreating the part based on complexity, material and available resources. We’ll consider factors like strength requirements, functionality, as well as the potential for redesign for improved performance. During this review, the engineer may contact you for additional information or clarification on the part’s function and intended use.
Step 2. Assessing the physical part
At this stage we’ll need physical access to the part to do the actual scan. Depending on cost, size and the viability of shipping, we can either come out to you, or you can send it in to us. This also allows for an even more thorough inspection of the part. Assuming we’re all happy, the 3D scan of the object can take place there and then.
Step 3. 3D Scanning
Whether in our in-house 3D Scanning suite, or at you location, we’ll use state of the art 3D scanning equipment to generate a high-accuracy 3D scan. This scan captures the part’s exact geometry, including any intricate details or hard-to-reach features.
Step 4. CAD Modelling
One of our engineers will use the 3D scan data to create a precise 3D computer-aided design (CAD) model. at this stage we can use the CAD software to make detailed modifications and optimisations of the design for suitability for the selected 3D printing process. Throughout our engineer will keep you in the loop, providing models if needed for approval before finalisation.
Step 5. Manufacturing the new part
Assuming you want us to at that stage, we’re then ready to take the finalised 3D model and use it to create as many 3D printed replicas of the part you need, helping you select an appropriate printing technology and material based on the part’s intended use and functional requirements.
