Midlands 3D treats every customer file as confidential by default. In practice, we share your communications, projects and models only with your express permission.
All employees, partners and contractors sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before starting work, so nobody on a project can disclose confidential information they come across along the way.
Access Control and Security Awareness
In addition to NDAs, strict access controls limit who can reach sensitive information, and we also monitor and log every access to our systems and networks.
Because education closes gaps that policy alone can’t, we run regular security awareness training so every employee understands their role in protecting your data.
Together, these practices sit alongside credentials that are independently checked, not just self-declared: Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 9001, JOSCAR registration and Make UK Defence membership. As a result, customers in IP-sensitive and defence-related sectors get assurance that outside auditors have verified our approach to confidentiality, not just read about it on this page.
Cyber Essentials Plus Certified
Midlands 3D holds Cyber Essentials Plus, assessed by CyberSmart under the UK Government-backed Cyber Essentials scheme, which IASME delivers nationally on behalf of the National Cyber Security Centre. In fact, CyberSmart certified us on 28 August 2026, covering our whole organisation, with recertification due 28 August 2027.
Cyber Essentials Plus 3D Printing: What It Means for You
In general, Cyber Essentials Plus goes further than the base-level Cyber Essentials scheme. The standard version relies on a self-assessed questionnaire. However, ours adds an independent, hands-on technical audit: an accredited assessor tests our systems directly, including vulnerability scanning, to check our controls work as described rather than just as documented.
